Education for Life should become both a testimony and a duty.

Intercoiffure Mondial - as a world organization - has decided to take on social responsibilities and also to let the public know about it.
Apart from financial contributions, EDUCATION is the best thing we can offer!

We can truly say:
Intercoiffure members stand on the bright side of life. For this reason we have decided to make it our duty to get off the street young people who live on the darker side of life, in view of giving them a perspective in our profession.

The pilot project we are supporting is located in Brazil outside Rio de Janeiro and is called 'Casa do Menor'. This project has been established by a priest. We have installed a small and simple hairdressing school, where the basic concepts of our profession are taught. The President of Intercoiffure Brazil supervises the project and is also in charge of finding employment for the youngsters in a Salon after completion of their education.

It is obvious that such a social commitment also costs money; money -which is not taken from the Intercoiffure Mondial budget but raised from donations on an ongoing basis. Our Treasurer Mondial has already set up a special account in Switzerland. There will be no overheads for administrative work; all donations go to the project.

In March 2004, on the occasion of Hair Brasil, CHF 10 000.--, collected n Europe have already been handed over to the 'Casa do Menor'. A very positive beginning indeed!
The official start for this worldwide donation action was our World Congress in Tokyo 2004. By the end of the year 2004, the total amount of donations was: EUR 29,000. In April 2007, it almost reached EUR 75,000!

Within the next 3 years, we aim at extending the activities described above to the whole world with 5 or 6 projects. Our 2nd project was launched in November 2006: 'Rudolf-Walther-Foundation' in Timisoara (Romania).
The taking care of the projects will be done directly by me from the Head Office in Paris, together with the WELLA Hairdressing Service International.
